Poor kitty has some kind of nerve damage. Hope they take it to the vet.
Yeah. Everyone thinks this video/gif is cute, but this cat isn’t yawning or making a cute face. He has a problem. Either nerve damage, or his jaw has disintigrated with aging, which causes it to be permanently open.

This needs to be taken off. Seriously, they are cruel for posting this of a cat which obviously has a medical problem.
Because we can all reach through our computers and fix the damn cat. God, you can’t control everyone’s reaction to this video. Yeah, some people think it’s funny. Some people think it’s sad. But trying to censor a damn .GIF is ridiculous. Quit being whiny, or get off the internet.

I saw this on youtube and cuteoverload and the cat was able to open and close it’s mouth just fine.
One explanation given was that they have glands in their throat that enhances their sense of smell.
You can tell by the original video that when the cat’s mouth is closed it is also uninterested, but it starts with that attentive gaze the same time it opens it’s mouth, so I prefer to believe it is simply trying to asses something using it’s enhanced sense of smell.
Ya, My cat does that every once in a while, like when i come back from the neighbor’s house, and i smell like other cats, hes like OMG, IM SNIFFIN WIF MA MOUF OPEN =D

If u look up the video and watch it from da beginning, u see the cat simply opens its mouth wide. Jeez quit doting over the thing!
