1. Thandiel says:

serval no doubt about it.

2. MD says:

Clearly, this is one of two breeds.

Most likely, it is a fine specimen of a longcat.

If not, then it is obviously a lion, and all present would do well to get themselves into the safe confines of an automobile.

It doesnt matter what VT says in response to this. They’re wrong.

• RowanVT says:

You’re right!

mnnnn…. tasty paradox circle… nomnomnom

• VSMouser says:

A lion? Ummmmmm, Check your source on that. I see the fact that it COULD NOT be a lioness or lion. The cat in the video would have to be
a) a lighter gold color and b) not spotted to be a lioness, and also have a mane to be a lion. so check your logic there, because that is clearly not
“obviously a lion”.

3. ArmadilloJr says:

It is a baby Longus Leapus Intous Faceus or Tabletop Cat for short. This species is a native of the Longcat (as MD said it was) that evolves by leaping onto Faces of Humans!

This Species is becoming extinct, glad this family has one!

4. Zoo Employee says:

That is a serval. The only other thing it could possibly be would be a savannah cat.

5. I Stole Your Hat says:

Maybe it’s a bengal.
As in the cat breed.

• RowanVT says:

Bengals are actually quite a big smaller than this cat because the wildcat they were mixed with was not as large in comparison as the serval is to domestic cats. They also lack the huge ears on this guy, and have “normal” cat faces, rather than the elongated face we see here.

• dom says:

Its one of those crossbred cats they bred a few years ago.

• Gerpie says:

Yes, it’s an bengal I’m pretty sure.
Its fur pattern is the same as a bengal my sister has, so yea.. PRETTY darn sure

6. Jesse says:

I haven’t heard of a serval, but I thought it was a Bengal.

7. Heather says:

Yes, But a savannah cat is the only one out of those that is actually a type of house cat. Y’all suck :)

• WhiteRaven says:

Just because a Savannah is a house cat and the rest are not, does not mean that it’s a Savannah. SEVERAL people have special permits to own non-domestic cats. And several own them illegally. But that does not seem the case here.

• cheesebrrgrr says:

You should have said SERVAL people.

• lara says:

im fairly sure it could be a non house cat cause some ppl like on animal planet raise wild cats in homes. like to raise them or somthing then put them in the wild

8. Mr. cow says:

It’s totally a bird

9. Wolfykins says:

It’s a Serval – I should know, I’m a crazy cat lady in training! It could be a very early generation Savannah, but this guy seems pretty big, and from what I can see his markings are well defined. I’m betting on a full blooded Serval.

10. WhiteRaven says:

I’m just gonna vote Serval a bunch of times until it out numbers the Ocelot votes (LOL JK ). It’s as if no one’s ever seen an Ocelot. THAT IS NOT AN OCELOT. And an OCECAT is NOT in anyway wild. It was only named Ocecat because of it’s Ocelot like APPEARANCE.

11. Josh St. says:

I would put money that it is a Savannah

• FelTigre says:

I’d take that bet, and would totally be taking your money =P, it’s a Serval

Notice the defined spots on the legs that look kinda like a face and the really long ears.

• polio says:

It is SO not a serval. The servals face is much different. This cat’s face is much more domestic, and the coat pattern does not even remotely match. Neither does the coat texture.

• RowanVT says:

Actually, the coat pattern matches fine, and the face is definitely more wildcat than domestic.

12. Dr. Zaro says:

I don’t care what kind of cat it is. All I care about is that I want to have one!

13. XD says:

Could be an Ashera, which is basically a trademarked Savannah cat anyhow

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ashera

14. matinta says:

Jaguatirica

15. Pengiun says:

It’s a Bengal, they’re so pretty =)

16. Harold says:

I’m sorry, but you’re all mistaken.
That is most clearly a tigger; how else could it jump so well?

17. Marcus says:

It’s most lokely a Serval, or a first generation savannah cat, but my money is on Serval, due to the size. Savannah cats are smaller, since they’re half regular domestic cat.

It’s not an Ocelot. They’ve got a different body shape and head shape, and the coat pattern is different. Ocelots are smaller and “stubbier” than Servals, which in turn have proportionally longer legs.

18. Katie says:

statue cat pounces! get it? cause it looks like a statue at first

19. polio says:

The spots don’t look like a Serval, and the eyes look too small to be an ocelot… I say Savannah. Those things can get GIGANTIC.

20. Sarah says:

its actually called a “Savanah Cat” a few years ago some breeders bred an african serval cat to a normal house cat and got this cat. Something interesting about it is its illegal to have one in some states.
But yes, it is a Savanah Cat.

21. PlaystFreak says:

Looks like a bobcat.

22. Beatle Maniac says:

It’s a house ornament brought to life by MAGIC!!!!

23. TehProfessor says:

It’s full, after eating the cameraman.

24. NomNomNom says:

It’s either a Savannah cat, or a Bengal Cat. It’s too small for me an ocelot, Ocelots have broader shoulders.

25. Rawr. says:

It’s an Ashera cat.

26. flutterby says:

It’s a Hobbes!!!

27. Orbdragon says:

Look at the short tail and ENORMOUS SIZE; it can’t be anything but a serval or MAYBE an F1 savannah.

Yeah, the Ashera’s big, but not as big as a serval, the face in no way resembles a serval’s, the tail is FAR too long, and the markings aren’t nearly distinct enough.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Serval_in_Tanzania.jpg

28. Valeriee says:

That is definitely a Serval. No doubt.

29. Alex says:

its a serval. Anyone who thinks its an ocelot doesn’t know their cats :/

30. Genius says:

Its an Ocecat (domesticated mix breed of ocelot).

• RowanVT says:

Ocicats are much smaller than that, do NOT have those giant ears, nor the very obviously not a domestic cat face. It’s either a Serval or early generation Savannah. Google images is your friend.

31. Mondevu says:

Serval. Obvious. To all you who voted ocelot, you fail. Epically.

http://www.recordsburpee.com/images/serval_cat.JPG

32. Shido says:

Thats a Tigrillo mi buen hombre

33. Bob says:

Serval. I own one. Unmistakably a Serval :D

34. Wil says:

Just as a curve ball what about an Egyptian Mau? the markings are pretty distinct

35. Gordo says:

This is clearly a Serval. The tail is too short to be a Savannah Cat.

36. Not Required says:

Its a serval, reason is behaviour of its owner.

Towel on top of cupboard, sparse decorations, and playful pounce at cameramans hand – almost certainly a serval.

37. annon says:

on the left is a savannah and on the right is a serval
http://www.savannahcatsdownunder.com.au/Pictures/Savannah%20and%20Serval.jpg

38. Laura says:

I thought it may have actually been an Ashera cat http://www.lifestylepets.com/ but not really sure :/

39. Nunya says:

It’s a Bengal. My mommy told me so. TwT End of discussion.

40. Seagull says:

Serval

41. maggie says:

it’s a savannah cat. serval’s have black around there nose. while similar, they are not the same. ocelots look different too.

42. Muzition says:

Definitely a Serval.

43. DarkMuse says:

IT’S A SERVAL. :P

44. serena says:

its a linx.

45. AlDante says:

No, it’s a longcat. jeez, you guys dont know anything -_-

46. Another Zookeeper says:

This is most definitely a Serval. It looks exactly like one.

47. the dirty knapkin says:

it could be a bengal cat, which is a domestic breed crossed with an asian leopard

http://animal.discovery.com/breedselector/catprofile.do?id=1050

i say that because it is in a house, it would be pretty hard to get one of those other cats to do that without ripping your face off

48. TBM says:

It’s a leopard cat, but probably a bengal, seeing as it is hard to have Leopard Cats as pets.

49. Django Fleasburg says:

I think that door is 22 inches wide.

50. The one you know as GOD says:

It’s a serval. bengal cat is much larger, lynx are larger too, not an ocecat either because those have more muscled legs. For those of you who said it was NOT a serval because it had too different markings, all cat markings are the same, and these markings fall in the serval’s marking catagory. What now. :3

51. boltodj says:

It’s a serval. It can’t be an ocelot, as the ears aren’t big enough. It isn’t a Savannah Cat because the facial structure isn’t right. A savannah cat has too much of a domestic cat’s face.

52. Caleb says:

I own a bengal and it’s not a bengal, bengals are way smaller than servals. Was close to getting a serval and that’s what this is, I have a picture on my phone of one. It’s a Serval, case closed.

53. ryan says:

HUNTER!!!!!

54. MayaDarkling says:

Not a cat.

It’s a ninja in a cat suit. Problem solved.

55. silverwolflol says:

It is a rare breed, that is still mostly wild, and originally bred from an ocelot and a common house cat. It is very expensive, and should be let outside, in an inclosed area, preferably w/ many wild plants and hunting toys. Live party mice are only a couple of bucks at Petco and work very well, too, or just feeder rats if you want to spare the cute ones.

(sorry to all the mouse enthusiasts out there, I figure you should use hunting toys if you want to spare the meices:])

56. Nicky says:

It kinda looks like leopard…

57. Nonya Beeswax says:

Bengal

58. Lippy says:

Definitely looks like a Bengal to me
