Strike me down, and I shall score more goals than you can possibly imagine

LOL! AAARGHHH!!
Its funny because the goalie is being hit by his own teammate.
It’s quite funny, but not worth the fifteen minutes of waiting ’cause it’s been done horribly wrong.
That’s what you get for letting the other person score i guess… then again hockey is a deadly sport.
haha where’s the actual vido to this??
http://ballhype.com/video/keith-ballard-injures-his-own-goalie/
+10 Internets for finding this source! Personally, I think the goalie totally over dramatized the hit. He has pucks flying at him all night, and he can’t handle one high-stick? Please.
Watch the video again, he’s bleeding… When a blunt hit causes bleeding, you got hit pretty freaking hard. It wasn’t just one little high-stick……
The tip of the stick went up under his mask. If you look closely, he was bleeding. Those sticks are made of numerous layers of hardwoods and/or carbon fibre. The newer ones are super light weight but pack a punch.
Well then, I should probably take back what I said about him. I would never call a hockey player a sissy to their face anyway.
I award you 4,000 internets for not acting like a tough guy like everyone else. Good day, sir.
oho! such a generoso donation! I should pretend that my internets bank is running low, so, Muchas Gracias Amigo!
wtf? he had his ear sliced almost in half ! those helmets are designed to be hit from the front and not from baseball swings
OMG, I totally forgot about that. I’ve never seen the video until now. So do you give a guy a penalty for high sticking his own teammate??
yep +1 for finding the video
It’s only really funny if you see the video, coz then you can understand the guy’s frustration, and why he did it.
Oh lawd, the description totally made this one.
LMAO
I KNOW!! LOL Glorious.
Huh, so that’s what hockey looks like when the universe is ruled by the Sith. Good thing they can clone goalies.
They’d run out of goalies pretty quick if that’s what happened when you let in a goal.
FATALITY!
I remember that game! I was at my buddy’s house, and we watched this happen at least 20 times that night.
Were you taking acid at your buddy’s house? This hasn’t happened more than 20 times in the history of the NHL…where a player has high sticked his own team mate….let alone one game. I can’t even think of another high stick to the head to someone from the same team at all. The only other big instance I can think of was Marty Mcsorely KO Donald Brashear…an opposing team mate.
lol I saw this on HFboards, it’s awesome
did he died?
Nope.
Vokoun was injured by teammate Keith Ballard in a game on Monday, November 30 2009, when Ballard hit Vokoun with an errant stick in the head. Vokoun was carried off the ice on a stretcher and was treated at a nearby hospital for an ear laceration. Vokoun had just given up a goal to Ilya Kovalchuk of the Atlanta Thrashers and Ballard went to break his stick on the goal post in frustration, but caught Vokoun instead.
I went to NHL.com to watch the actual highlight and saw that they cut the clip right after the guy scores.

How can he come back and score more points than before? He’s a goalie, he didn’t score to begin with.
Actually, there have been like 7 recorded goals from a goaltender, 2 from Ron Hextall, and 1 from Brodeur, Theodore, Nabokov and a few others…and some others that were own goals credited to the last player on the other team to touch the puck.
though Vokoun has never scored.
The ironic thing is that only two days later he ran into the goalie that used to play for his team (Craig Anderson) and injured him as well. (Running goalies is illegal.)
Now he’s been traded to the Canucks- Luongo better watch out!
I was at this game! It was honestly the best hockey game I’ve ever been to. We got moved from our nosebleed seats to wayyy down close to the glass. I have never gotten so into a game and when we were all tied up, the Thrashers scored with 5 seconds left in the game. I literally have never gotten so excited over hockey in my life. I’ve been to a lot of games, but I’m not super into it. This game was different though. I screamed at the top of my lungs.
you have failed me for the last time!
FOR SPARTAAAAA!!!!!!
LOL funny as hell, poor goaly
