  1. Doodlepeg says:

This was some viral advertising about waterproof shoes!
I’m not saying it’s bad because of that though :P

  2. Dänemarker says:

    How the f**k …..

    • sarah says:

the water has to be very cold or it wont work and the shoes must be water resistant. they borroved this idea about walking on water from a lizard that can cross great distances on water just on his last two legs while running away from its enemy.
this is from Slowenia (Bled i think)

      • il duderino says:

the real reason that the lizzard can do it is because it has a very low mass and can run faster than the water can envelope its feet

        • whorehammerer40k says:

so if we could move our legs faster than our legs had time to be enveloped n sink we could theoretically do it? I imagine with our weight our legs would have to move pretty damn fast.

        • falseconvoy says:

it also has little things on its feet that increase the surface area of its feet spreading its mass out on the water

      • wh00p says:

I think that lizard was called Jesus or something like that… not sure though

      • James says:

Or there is a platform just below the waters surface, similar to what was done at buick invitational a few years back where they had a car that appeared to sitting on top of water.

        • Tinerrrrrr says:

in theory, yes it could be that, but if you ever watch the video, they fall at different places each time, sometimes falling right at the beginning.

  3. Domas says:

thats awesome! is he wearing some kind of flippers?

  4. Cobalt says:

It’s a trick. The water’s shallow where he’s running and it drops off where he falls.

    • sarah says:

no, it is true – look for Slowenia, running on water, Bled :)
they started this sport here and is becoming popular as we speak. it is possible – i think their record is about 15 meters

    • Dibbz says:

It’s real, it’s on a documentary and there is an official world record – officials inspected that it was not any kind of trick.

It’s just the laws of physics.

  5. anon emus says:

Fake, there is a board under the water. And I should know, I placed them under the runner. And that is also how zombie jebus did it to

  6. Trollerz says:

LOL he waz walking on land before he steps on the shallow water ..
    OR NOT

  7. J says:

It’s just really shallow water. You can see weeds sticking out of the water right to where he falls. Looks like it’s just a sharp drop off.

  8. Nick says:

its for a commercial advertising some water resistant shoes. Called it “liquid mountaineering.” Complete bull if you didn’t know.

  9. Steve says:

The lake is flooded as you can see by the fleeting glimpse of the shoreline. There is a dock submerged by that flood.

  10. Not Any Vicarious Insect says:

Hey! Listen! Did you guys hear? This is fake! nobody seems to have mentioned that.

  11. Caboose says:

    Slippery when wet.

  12. funfungiguy says:

This is real. I was there when it happened.

Clearly we must believe you, because EVERYONE tells the truth on the internet!!!

  13. MissaA says:

    The Mythbusters must be alerted.

  14. A Brilliant Scientist says:

This is both real and fake. The water he is running on represents the thin line between imagination and reality. The air is imagination, which is what he starts off running through, but because he pursues his dreams to the fullest extent, he breaks through that very thin barrier and makes a reality out of what was fantasy. When he falls into the water, his vision is completely realized, and then we all see that imagination is simply reality not yet born.

That and he is made of magic.

  15. Sage says:

    it’s fake? :(

  16. Jesus says:

    NOT FAKE…………..

  17. Robinis says:

NOT FAKE. It is really possible. You just need the right footwear and that the water should be glass smooth..And you need to run in a special way . I mean cant run like in stadium or etc… LOL … its a special technique.

  18. zotarium says:

    It’s scientifically feasible. Google “Hydroplane”.

    • Cobalt says:

Hydroplaning works for surfboards and fast-moving vehicles, but not people running. If he was using skis, maybe, but not just running.

      • funfungiguy says:

Actually I have a comic book where The Flash does it. So it can be done by running…

    • Philip says:

Just not for humans who want to keep their leg bones intact.

  19. RKO says:

    Run on water,
    FAIL on water.
    simple logic.

  20. tahrann says:

He did not store enough chakra at his feet. Duh.

  21. BUTTSEKS!!!!!!!!!!! says:

this is completely possible, but not for a long time, you just need to be going fast enough

  22. trosh says:

I BELIEVED IT YOU GUYS RUINED ALL MY DREAMS OF RUNNING ON WATER

  23. wetjohn says:

    > Hey! Listen! Did you guys hear? This is fake! nobody seems to have mentioned that.

maybe you should have mentioned that earlier stupid, pah

  24. bobiner says:

woow, u guys are pree smart. they have a system of boards like a ramp set up underwater, and this whole video was just promotion for the shoes

  25. Woppy says:

Water becomes as hard as concrete at somewhere above 70 mph..but the maximum speed a human can run is somewhere around 20 mph. So no, I don’t think so. :P

    • A Contortionist says:

Are you asserting that a human needs to be running on something as hard as solid concrete to not pass through it? I’m not sold on it until I try it, so yes, it makes a great marketing scheme, but impossible? As water gets colder, it displays more non-Newtonian methods of dealing with force. As the slightly higher density fluid has a force applied to it, it presses back on the foot with some diminished return of that force. This diminished return is greater than that in warm water, because cold water tends to move slower, given the nature of temperature. Kill it with Science.

    • Poodleinacan says:

Admit you heard that in a movie. (I saw it to.)

And that water running reminds me of a movie…(don’t remember the title, but at the end some old kong-fu master runs on the water… by the way, it’s an american comedy movie).

    • The Bun says:

Stoopid… Your feet dont move in the speed youre running. The movement of your legs and feet pushes your body forward, but in order to push your body forward your feet must be still on the ground (on water in this case). Therefore your feet dont move for s**t. As long as you dont mean that the push downwards your feet makes should exceed 70 mph, still not possible though. Imagine jumping from high altitude, like 10 metres or so. You dont stop at the surface and have like a 0,5 sec breather before you sink in.

Anyways, i do agree with you. Thinking this would work is total idiocy. Check out the vid again ppl and tell me that the guy is not breaking water surface. He sinks thru it and runs on something beneath the surface

  26. jump it says:

he is rock jumping when the water is glass he can see the rocks tojump on…..?

  27. TMad says:

Its totally plausible. I remember doing it in the winter time on our pool when I was little. Weighed only 60 pounds, was unable to in the summer cause the water is to warm. And no, the water wasn’t frozen. It was still warm enough to swim. 50ish. Could get 3-4 steps before sinking.

  28. maelstrom says:

At least part of it is possible. I was trying to learn to ski barefoot years ago and did it on accident. I ran for something like fifteen steps before cartwheeling. I don’t know if the gif and video are faked, but there are ways to do it. Same principles as used by snowmobiles on open water, probably. You just need the right speed, mass, and surface tension.

  29. Brucifer says:

    Remo Williams, baby!

  30. Compy says:

He’s a rogue and he used sprint. Duh.

  31. Nick says:

    Actually not fake.

Daily Planet did a segment about it quite a while ago. I know this because apparently I’m a huge dork, hahaha.

  32. justin says:

its probably really shallow water than it just drops off quick

  33. funster says:

i think it’s real, because he’s sinking deeper every step + isn’t it more impossible to run that fast on a little platform?

  34. anonimosaurus says:

    jesus christ!!

  35. whatever says:

Anyone that think this is real has failed your 1st year physics.
