The question is how would you react if the guy got hit by the train? True it wasn’t going too fast, but it was still fast enough to knock him over and painfully drag him beneath the undercarriage.
That would have been terrible! That’s why his buddy should have helped! It would have been less of a close call, I think.
I don’t understand why the guy ran back across the tracks and not around the white van – which was already out of the ay!
Of course, he probably wasn’t thinking too clearly with a train bearing down on him.

Guys, the clip is in fast-forward, you can tell by the jerky running at the end. I’m guessing the train was going slowly enough that it wouldn’t hurt him if he were clipped. It looks like the train was almost at a stop, he jogged out of the way, and this GIF sped it up 5x to look like he sprinted out of the way of a speeding train.

Even at a near stop, if the train had hit him he probably would have fallen and been run over. Regardless of the fact that the train stops a few meters past the crossing that’s still enough space to get an arm or leg caught between the rail and wheel and become an amputee.
The train WAS slowing down because the operator saw the van, but it was still going fast enough to have killed the family inside the van and the man if he hadn’t moved in time.
This was big news here in Argentina, and believe me, the fast forward is almost nonexistant!
Just because it’s sped up doesn’t mean that it isn’t any less dangerous or impressive.

I shoulds mention that the driver probably was still shaken up by this, but despite the risk, nice work by the guy that shoved it out of the way, proably saved at least one person’s life. Juts make sure not to get hit by the oncoming train

Dayamn, I agree – the guy’s got balls of steel (or titanium)! I can’t understand why he ran BACK! Eek! Even at a slow speed, that train could’ve put a major hurt on him. The train conductor looks like he’s chewing him out – asswipe.
In a situation happening that fast, you’re going off of instinct. The car he pushed was barely off the tracks– his brain made a split-second decision that it would take longer to run around the car than to just run straight back across the tracks. Instinct is sometimes wrong; but in this case it turned out okay.
The train guy _was_ a jerk, though.
You know that trains can’t brake with such short distance available, right? They are not cars.

I’m from Argentina, and the incredible thing of what happened in that situation, not that the man is pushing the truck on its own, but after the train passed the truck disappeared without a trace. Or perhaps the driver of the truck is just an ass.

a good thing to keep in mind is that he didnt know the trian was going to stop either, he had in mind it was going to ram the van at the speed it was going when he saw it, at least thats what i would be thinking.
Here’s maybe the craziest thing–just before the train passes, you can see the van driver HIT THE BRAKES! Like “okay, you’ve pushed me far enough, I think I’ll just park it here and watch the train go by”. Whatta numbskull.
