I don’t see what’s funny about a little girl being jerked face first onto a cement floor.
1. kids are stupid & annoying
2. she did something stupid (threw toy w/o letting go of leash)
3. received appropriate (& funny) consequence for doing something stupid
There’s three reasons why it’s hilarious!
I agree that kids are annoying. I agree that she didn’t think her action through. And I agree that that was the appropriate consequence of her action. That’s all part of learning basic cause and effect.
But… Unless a person does something tremendously stupid, I don’t see the entertainment in another’s pain. Even if an adult had done that (less excuse not to know better), as stupid as it’d be, it wouldn’t be stupid enough to be funny.
There was a guy who tried to commit suicide once… He took poison, tied a noose to a tree over a cliff, and tried to shoot himself as he hung himself. Because of the drop, he missed his head and shot the noose. He landed in icy cold water, causing him to vomit up the poison. He died in the hospital of hypothermia. (I forget the source. Might’ve been the Darwin Awards.) THAT is enough to be funny. Something as minor as what the girl in this gif did… I really just don’t see any humor value in it.

I laugh only because the same thing happened to me, haha.
Only I didn’t throw a ball, my black lab saint bernard cross decided to chase after a kid on a bike and my mom had wrapped the leash around my wrist. When you’re four, you don’t really have the capacity to think about the dangers of that.
I skidded face down on the pavement for a quite a bit. The next thing I remember, my mom is bandaging my face and I’m eating jello and watching Alladin. So something good came out of it.
