Also, why is his response to run out of the shower? Surely the horrible hand is attached to some sort of monster which is also right outside the shower.

I like that they provided a safety cushion to keep him from falling on the floor.
That wasn’t a cushion, they hit him in the face with an ironing board when he tried to run out.
I don’t think it was either reason.. I think it looks like a mini ironing board he used to keep from getting punched in the face lol
