Saved TWO lives, how is that unsafe?, plus the trenches were designed to nullify any multi-directional blast, the C shape took care of that (the second life WAS saved by the instructor pulling the trainee in the trench)
I HOPE he took him right back to it & they had a successful throw on the next attempt!!
Do you remember the Korean War? We killed over 3 million Chinese and our casualties were under 50,000. Our tanks are better, our planes are better, our guns are better, our navy is WAAAYYY better, our soldiers are better, and we are much better at strategic warfare than any other country than any other. Don’t even try to make that argument. Also don’t try to mention how many people they have in their army because we have more bullets than they have people.
Lol. proud ignorant yank. What about the U-S-of-A and the Vietnam? You had waaaaaaay better soldiers, equipment, tanks. More bullets and bombs, in fact dropped more bombs on Nam than the combined amount dropped during the WW2 by all of the countries. Not to mention Afghanistan, 11 years there and still cannot win against basically a native tribe and perhaps never will
Btw, during the WW2 Russians suffered the biggest casualties than the western allies put together, had waaaaay inferior technology compared to the Germans but still managed to storm Berlin and claim the Reichstag
So why lose Vietnam and failing to win in the middle-east if they were/are evil? Countries that are going to war with a silly excuse (eliminating terrorism or promoting democracy or any other fairytale reason etc) will never win.
Work on your definition of evil…
The first time I saw something like this was in the military… comedy movie, “In the Army Now”!
You know, the one with Pauly Shore and Andy Dick. Except one of ‘em just dropped the grenade after misinterpreting the directions of the DI.
It was a hilarious but definitely dangerous circumstance. What you need in order to not blow yourself up is some quality time with people who are trying to teach you instead of break you. That, and some explosives that are of better integrity.
The instructor acted very quickly and correctly, indicating that he had received proper training and continuous practice in what to do in this not unlikely event. The guy who screwed up did okay with falling prone in a semi-panic, but the instructor probably saved his legs.
It is difficult/impossible to see in this gif, but there is a series of posts around the bunker (possibly to hold razor wire) and the grenade hit one of the posts. Sorry I can’t remember where I saw a better quality vid, but that is what happened.
This isn’t how armies train?.. I was in the Iron Wolf armoured division in Eastern Europe and even though we’re mostly trained in vehicle operation we still used grenades and conventional weapons, when we trained we used dummy grenades that did explode but had no blast radius… the PLA are especially carefull with supplies so I’m not sure how reliable this is?
Maybe not how your army trains, but ours did. When I went through, we didn’t have ditches all around. There was a mound in front of us with sandbags around. They had us chuck….not like a normal throw, but chuck the live grenade in front of us and the drill sgt would pull us down behind the mound. If in a case like this, we were told that the drill sgt was suppose to cover us with his own body to protect us from the blast.
Also about live fire, we had to do what was called “night fire”. And it wasn’t us firing at night. We had to crawl…i forget how far….under a barbed wire fence that started out low then the space got higher as you went along while live tracer rounds were fired over our heads. I don’t know how true it is but they told us that there were some idiots that didn’t start out low crawling in the past and got shot.
Not every countries training is the same.
first :O just thought i would let you know
he might have saved his life when he pulled him down
nope….
It’s always the guy with the flamethrower.
lol the at the other guy “I SAID GET YOUR ASS DOWN HERE!”
That is the most unsafe grenade range I have ever seen….

lol “next attempt”
Silly Chinese people still think they an actual threat?
You kidding? China would steam-roll the world as long as it didn’t turn into a thermonuclear war, then everyone would be screwed.
They would win by attrition.
They need a navy to get anywhere by Vietnam, which at last count beat them in the late 70s.
Oh, and North Korea, but why would you want to destroy your own buffer state?
“but” vietnam, that should be. And “anywhere interesting”.

Australia’s casualties in ratio respects are less than half of America’s.
The chinese bought that new fancy jet off the russians that can go from full speed to stop in a few seconds.
problem?
Because jets that stop are a real and present danger to anything.
Except that with the economy nowadays your tanks/planes/guns/bullets may very well have a sticker slapped onto them that says “Made in China”.

Evil will never win, fool. Evil = instigators, communists, and dictatorships.

Sargent-That was the worst throw ever…..of All Time
Soldier- Not my fault. Someone put a wall in my way.
Soldier – I take full responsibility for the grenade incident.
Love Caboose.

I can’t understand how that happened. What I see is grenade rechosheting from thin air
Yeah, what did the grenade bounce off of air?
